Tinto Cachicán 2018
Fiche technique
L'avis des experts
The 2018 Cachicán is the one red that is slightly different and does not carry the appellation of origin, because it's produced with a blend of grapes—red and white—that are not allowed by the DO. It's a mysterious blend of 68% Mencía, 18%Garnacha Tintorera and the remaining "others." There is a wild twist here, with flowers, berries, herbs and an earthy touch that gives it a rustic edge. Sometimes it makes me think of some Portuguese reds, with violets and dust. It's more refined, aromatic and light at 13% alcohol, and it has rounder tannins and a gentler mouthfeel. Tasty. Only 521 bottles were filled in June 2019 after four months in used French barrique.
