The Wine Advocate:

The style of the 2016 Taruguín is ripe, powerful, concentrated and earthy, with dark fruit and notes of peat, graphite and all things black. They farm their vineyards organically, and like in all old vineyards, there is a percentage of white Albillo grapes. It fermented with natural yeasts in a small 1,500-liter tank and matured in used French oak barrels for some nine months. Despite everything, this is a little gentler than previous years. The wine has rusticity, and there is a sensation of wilderness; it has dusty and earthy tannins, something chalky too, and will probably develop nicely in bottle. A powerful Tempranillo, not for the faint of heart. 2,740 bottles and 126 magnums produced.
