L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

"The one white here, the 2015 Massipa de Scala Dei is the new rendition of the wine that was previously Blanc de Scala Dei. It's a blend of Garnacha Blanca with 20% Chenin Blanc from a single vineyard that names the wine and is located next to Masdeu. The two grapes were harvested and pressed together, and the must was put to ferment in concrete vats with indigenous yeasts. After two months, it was transferred to oak foudres where it matured for 12 months. It has a certain Burgundian profile with some yeasty notes and hints of smoke and spices, with the dry flowers and aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean whites. It has a very tasty palate with clean, delineated flavors and an almost salty finish. 3,800 bottles were filled in January 2017."
