L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

The 2013 Salia was cropped from a cool year and has a varietal breakdown of 61% Syrah from the clay-dominated parts of their vineyards, 32% Alicante Bouschet (Garnacha Tintorera) and 7% Garnacha. This has 13.5% and has very good freshness, making it approachable and easy to drink. Salia tends to be a little funky, and in this cool vintage, I even found some animal-like notes of singed leather intermixed with aromas of tempera paint and fountain pen ink. The palate has some earthy notes and dusty tannins, with a certain rusticity and a dry finish. It needs a little bit of air, so decanting it in advance might not be a bad idea. 18,000 bottles produced. it was bottled in August 2014.
