Description

The Wine Advocate:

The 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape is more red fruited than the 2018, with cherries and raspberries leading the way. It's full-bodied and concentrated, perhaps a bit more tannic and not as easy to drink right now, but well done, with hints of garrigue adding nuance to the long finish.

James Suckling:

Impressive, rich red and dark fruit aromas and flavors here with a very balanced, fleshy palate that is bathed in ripe-plum and summer-berry flavors. Drink or hold.

Jeb Dunnuck:

The 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape is rocking stuff. Blueberries, crushed violets, ground pepper, and crushed stone-like minerality all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, elegant, pure, lengthy wine. It plays in the more fresh, focused, Burgundian style yet has classic Southern Rhône character, ripe tannins, and a great finish. Give it 2-4 years and enjoy over the following 10-15 years.
