L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

The 2016 Reserva is mostly a field blend from old vines, with 20% Touriga Nacional added in; all aged in 80% new French oak for 12 months. It comes in at 14.2% alcohol. This has more concentration than the Cavalos, showing fine fruit that seems very ripe. For all of that, it has some of the acidity that the Cavalos has (about 25% of its juice is from Cavalos). The acidity supporting the fruit makes this perfectly balanced. It is a nice combination here. The tannins are ripe, making it approachable on the young side.

Roger Voss Wine Enthusiast:

From the plateau vineyards south of the Douro river around the town of Ervedosa do Douro, this wine is powerful and rich. It has a luscious, Port-like character, ripe with rounded tannins and black fruits. Made from old vines and some Touriga Nacional, this wine is still maturing. It should be ready to drink from 2021.
