L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

The 2018 Palpite Reserva is a blend of 22% Aragonez, 31% Alicante Bouschet, 19% Touriga Nacional, 15% Alfrocheiro and the rest Trincadeira, all aged for 18 months in 30% new French oak. It comes in at 15% alcohol. As concentrated as this is, the power is even greater. Tight, tannic and intense, this shows off tons of potential, all as yet unrealized. The precision is good. The mid-palate has some finesse. It seems to handle the wood and alcohol well. It just needs time, perhaps more than indicated. It opens well, then closes down hard. This should be one you prepare to sock away for a few years. Even if it is approachable earlier, come back around 2025 for better results. That will give us some indication of what this is finally going to be. There were 17,987 bottles produced.
