The voluptuous and showy 2015 Carmelo Rodero Pago de Valtarreña comes from a single vineyard planted with Tempranillo some 40 years ago. It has the house style of powerful, modern and clean reds with generous oak and a hedonistic profile. There are abundant fine-grained tannins and nice balance with focused and clean flavors. 15,320 bottles.

James Suckling:

Cedary, spicy and plenty of ripe dark berries. Very assertive and structured Ribera. Rich and concentrated palate with black cherries, dark chocolate, ripe plums and some blueberries. Great depth and power here. Drink or hold.
