O Raio da Vella 2017

The new kid on the block here is the 2017 O Raio da Vella, pure Albariño from extremely young vines, four years old, which is the youngest allowed to wear the appellation of origin name. It would be impossible to guess the vines are so young, because the wine feels very complete, with good depth and pungent flavors, a varietal profile with the serious notes of the granite. This is an impressive debut. Some 2,000 bottles produced from 0.75 hectares of vines.
