The Wine Advocate:

The red 2017 Ozuela is named for the village where the grapes come from, and it's mostly Mencía with the usual mix in the old vineyards from slate soils. The full clusters fermented in an open-top chestnut vat and matured in used oak barrels for ten months. It's somewhat closed and a little reticent but certainly more about soil than fruit. The palate is terrifically tasty, with almost salty flavors, and the fine-grained tannins from the slate make it nicely textured. With time in the glass it also showed some of the floral character Mencía can sometimes have. 2,500 bottles were filled in May 2018.
