L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

"The village red 2016 Ozuela comes from a single vineyard in the village that gives it its name. The wine is Mencía with some 20% Palomino that was fermented together with full clusters in a 1,000-liter terracotta amphora, foot trodden, kept with the skins for two months and then transferred to well-seasoned oak barrels. It's very aromatic, floral, expressive and clean, even if it had been bottled three days before I tasted it. It also has a lot of freshness and a somehow Burgundian profile, even in the palate where the tannins are fine-grained but with some of the coarse texture provided by slate soils. There is very good balance and length. This is surprisingly good. 867 bottles were filled in July 2017."
