L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

I tasted two vintages—2017 and 2018—of the entry-level sweet Moscatel from Málaga, which made an interesting comparison, because 2016 was very challenging and they didn't produce this wine. The 2017 MR comes from a very early harvest after an atypical and extreme growing season; it all happened very early and in a hurry, which culminated in a harvest from the 14th of August when they found different levels of ripeness even in the same bunch of grapes, so sorting and selecting was key. The wine is a little sweeter than other years, with 145 grams of sugar and similar alcohol, and it's also a little simpler, with less nuance, quite sweet. It has the bitter twist in the finish. This never sees any oak, and it's bottled after 10 months in tank. 5,271 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2018.
