The Wine Advocate:

"The young, backward and serious 2015 Molinillo is the first 'village' wine here, as Molinillo is the name of the village where they have two small plots of vineyards on 'Corneana' soils; Corneana is a very hard rock often called Hornfels or whetstone, a metamorphic rock made up of mainly quartz, feldspar and mica. The village is quite windy, so the grapes are usually healthy (2015 was healthy anyway). The vines are over 80 years old and are located at 700 meters altitude. The destemmed grapes fermented in plastic bins with indigenous yeasts and the wine aged in used French oak barrels for 15 months. It's very obviously young and undeveloped, with some shy floral aromas and insinuating complexity. But it's the palate where you see its depth and complexity, and while the medium body might make you think otherwise, this has lots of inner strength. It should age beautifully in bottle. 900 bottles were filled from unfiltered and unfined wine at the end of January 2017."
