L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

"The top of the range is the 2009 Luis Peique, sourced from the oldest family vineyards, pure Mencia aged 70 to 90 years, which is fermented in new 500-liter French oak barrels, where it had an extended maceration, went through malolactic fermentation and completed its aging for 16 months. The result feels very different from the rest of the wines from the winery. Everything seems to be more integrated and in balance, and even if the effect of the new oak is still very much at the forefront, mainly in the palate, the sense of completeness is much fuller. Drink 2015-2022".
