Louis et Claude Desvignes Morgon Côte du Py 2018

Aromas of spicy cassis and blackberries mingle with scents of smoked meats and cracked black pepper to introduce the 2018 Morgon Côte du Py, a medium to full-bodied, layered and broad-shouldered wine with a fleshy core of juicy fruit, excellent depth and dimensions, and a long, nicely defined finish. There's plenty of fine-grained tannin here, but it's hidden to such an extent that this will make for more accessible early drinking than the firmer 2017 rendition. - William Kelley.
