Laventura Tempranillo 2016

The red 2016 Laventura Tempranillo matured in 500-liter oak vats with the lees to create a reductive atmosphere, as they want to avoid oxidation. The wine feels quite fresh; it's a wine with fruit, but somehow the grape is delicate. The oak polished the tannins, but the lack of oxygen—it was never racked—helps to preserve the fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, and the tannins are fine-grained and provide for a chalky texture and a mineral-like sensation. Very good indeed. 3,300 bottles were filled in December 2017. - Luis Gutiérrez.
