The Wine Advocate:

"Equally powerful is the 2012 La Prohibición, produced with Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet) grapes, which is not contemplated to produce varietal wines in Bierzo and is therefore sold as Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León. The full clusters fermented in open vats with long maceration, before and after the alcoholic fermentation, and they still bled the wine (I don't think it needed more concentration). The wine matured in new 600-liter French oak barrels for two years without any racking. There are lots of aromatic herbs plus a smoky touch, still showing sweet fruit and clean, focused aromas. The palate is very tannic; as the variety is very rich in aromatic and coloring compounds, it makes for large wines that need time in bottle and/or powerful food. 6,000 bottles produced".
