L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

The challenge for a dry white like the 2016 Moscatel is to keep the strong varietal aromas under control so as not to overwhelm food. They fermented it with the skins, and they are increasing the time the wine is in contact with them, two weeks on this occasion. This wine manages it nicely, with subtle aromas that are floral, spicy and varietal but with more notes reminiscent of Gewürztraminer. The palate is dry and has volume, good freshness and very good balance. It ends dry. With time in the bottle, there is a tendency for the aromas to diminish and the palate to expand. This is also lowish in alcohol at 12.5%. 11,639 bottles were filled in November 2017.

James Suckling:

Full body, layered and juicy with dried apple and pineapple character. Lemon undertones. The phenolic undertone gives this a velvety texture. Exciting. This is made from 80 small producers from the area. Very dry. Drink now. Screw cap.
