L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

"The 2014 Ignios Orígenes Marmajuelo is produced from a very fragrant variety that is fermented in barrique to diminish its perfume a little. The variety has a short vegetative cycle, so it doesn't usually have ripeness problems, while its keeps good acidity. This is the first grape to be harvested, and the must, once it starts fermenting is transferred to 500-liter oak barrels; it stays with the full lees for some ten months, during which time it also goes through malolactic fermentation. Pérez has stopped doing bâttonage, as too much lees work lowers the verticality of the wine. The nose is riper with aromas of yellow fruit and it also shows more evolution, like it has been produced in a more oxidative style, developing even some honeyed aromas. The plate has both volume and very high acidity, but somehow lacks in the mid palate. This is possibly a wine for the longer term, as it has more stuffing than most of the others. 2,600 bottles produced. It was bottled in September 2015".
