The Wine Advocate:

"The 2013 Goliardo Caíño is produced with the fruit from old vines planted on granitic sandy soils with plenty of stones. It fermented in 2,500-liter oak vats with 30% full clusters and it matured in well-seasoned 225- and 500-liter oak barrels for one year. It started quite balsamic, with lots of aromatic herbs, acid strawberries, developing more notes of black peppercorns as it sat in the glass. The year has produced austere, sharp reds with tension. This is wild and characterful, vibrant, elegant with rusticity. A textbook cool climate red. Super! 3,500 bottles produced."
