Fuerza Bruta 2017
Fiche technique
L'avis des experts
The 2017 Fuerza Bruta is sold with the Vinos de Madrid appellation—a technicality, as the vineyards are across the border in the next village, Aldea del Fresno, which is part of the province of Madrid. The vines are 60 years old and are planted on granite soils with a sandy texture. They used 100% full clusters for the fermentation here, which was with indigenous yeasts and was followed by a long (35 days) but soft maceration. The wine matured in French oak foudre and in chestnut from Galicia. This feels riper and more evolved, with some orange in the color and a nose with cherries in liqueur and plenty of Mediterranean herbs. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins showcasing the granite texture and flavors reminiscent of some Garnacha wines from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a little medicinal and clearly balsamic. 5,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2019.
