Description
Le Chasselas, également connu sous le nom de Fendant dans le canton du Valais en Suisse, s'invite sur toutes les terrasses de Zurich à l'heure de l'apéritif. Longtemps déprécié, comme d'autres cépages locaux, en raison de sa faible acidité, il a été remis à l'honneur par quelques œnologues de renom. Donnant le jour à des vins blancs très agréables, le Chasselas du terroir du Valais se révèle délicieusement fruité et déploie une note minérale très caractéristique qui rappelle le Chablis et le Sauvignon Blanc.

"From black schist soils, the 2016 Fendant Balavaud Vétroz Grand Cru offers a rich and intensely fruity but also subtle, complex and fresh bouquet of mandarins and crushed slate with this inimitable floral and slightly flinty touch. The wine is full-bodied, round, elegant, vital and fresh, provided with a persistently salty-mineral structure and a long, aromatic and pretty powerful finish. It is slightly yeasty in its balanced texture and reveals fine tannins and ripe, well-integrated acidity. The fruit flavors tend toward tropical and reflect the warm terroir of Vétroz, whereas the vital acidity, mineral finesse and purity is the result of large differences between day and night temperatures and certainly the rocky terroir. A gorgeous Chasselas that will benefit from further bottle aging."
