Epistem Noº 3 2015

The 2015 Epistem n. 3 from a classical, healthy Mediterranean year is 35% Monastrell, 35% Syrah and 30% Garnacha Tintorera fermented in open vats and matured in different size barrels. It's a powerful wine with 15.5% alcohol. It felt serious and balanced within its XL style, dark and with black fruit aromas, hints of tar and graphite and some Mediterranean herbs, minty, spicy and balsamic with time in the glass. It's full-bodied, powerful and concentrated, very good in its style. 13,000 bottles were filled in February 2017. - Luis Gutiérrez. 

Here is the combination of power and freshness that's so difficult to pull off in Yecla. The wine is elegant, too. Plenty of bitter chocolate and fresh blackberry fruit, and a very energetic finish. Drink now.
