The Wine Advocate:

The sweet red 2015 El Sequé Dulce stopped fermenting halfway through the conversion of sugar to alcohol and was made with the addition of alcohol. It's therefore a fortified Mediterranean red, their take on the traditional Fondillón from Alicante. They have been making red wine since 2008, and they select one of the plots of Monastrell that they harvest later with higher ripeness, produced in a very similar way to a Port wine. It has around 18.5% alcohol and over 100 grams of residual sugar per liter. It matured in 500-liter French casks for one year. It's balsamic and aromatic, with notes of cherries in liqueur and Mediterranean reds, with fresh fruit and overall freshness. It's certainly less oxidative than the Fondillón, more similar to a young Port, with good integration of the alcohol. It should develop nicely in barrel. 2,500 bottles produced.
