L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

Sourced from the vineyard that surrounds the winery in the village of Páganos, the 2014 El Puntido is pure Tempranillo aged in brand new French barriques for 16 months. I tasted this next to some wines from San Vicente and noticed the difference in soils and altitude, and there's always some extra freshness here. It has aromas of fine woods and exotic spices, faintly balsamic and smoky. They also had to sort and declassify grapes to achieve the quality they are looking for. The palate shows the fine, chalky tannins and the lively acidity that should help it in its journey in bottle. 40,000 bottles produced.

James Suckling:

Very floral with dried-tea undertones and dark fruit. Medium body, fine tannins and a clean finish. Not the richest wine, but shows style. Drink now.
