The Wine Advocate:

One white variety traditionally planted in the zone of Rueda but almost forgotten is Viura, with which they produced the 2017 Parajes Del Infierno El Judas. They used grapes from old vines they found in the village of Villanueva de Duero, 60-year-old vines in 0.45 hectares at 750 meters in altitude on sand and boulder soils. They only produced 2015 before, as frost killed the grapes in 2016, and this 2017 is from a low-yielding and dry year that delivered a wine that has more savory than sweet aromas, reminiscent of food, and then there's finesse and clout, coming back with a salty sensation in the finish. This fermented and matured in oak barrels yet is not oaky at all. Only 618 bottles were filled in September 2018.
