The Wine Advocate:

There exists a line of single-vineyard or similar singular plots, part of which includes the 2017 Mazuelo Parcelas Singulares from the El Plano vineyard, planted at 0.9 hectares. It was planted in the village of Cervera de la Cañada in 1994 from a massal selection of Almonacid de la Sierra. 2017 was an unusual year, marked by frost and tiny yields. It fermented with 20% full clusters, in two egg-shaped vats where it was kept on the lees, until bottling. It has notes of ripe fruit and tree bark, with something organic and a touch of rusticity, a little juicy, but with moderate alcohol (13.5% alcohol). 1,076 bottles were filled in early October 2018.
