A Grenache-Syrah blend, Château Lavabre's 2019 Pic Saint Loup La Closerie Rosé is both the most mineral and the most concentrated of the three rosés tasted. Crushed stone dominates the nose, while the medium-bodied palate expands to show notes of fresh herbs, alpine strawberries and lime zest before ending with a long lick of wet stone.
The 2019 La Closerie Rose comes from the Pic Saint-Loup region of the Languedoc and is a fresh, crisp effort with beautiful depth of fruit and length. Notes of tart strawberries and white flowers as well as citrus pith all emerge from the glass, and it's medium-bodied, with a fresh, crisp texture and a clean, dry finish. It's ideal for summer drinking and tapas.
