The Wine Advocate:

I tasted an unbottled sample of the 2017 Valdeginés that was in tank, where it now matured for some eight months. It matured in oak barriques until malolactic is complete. Malolactic usually starts in the spring or summer, so the wines are in oak only eight to ten months and then transferred to tank. So, the wines have a lot less oak than before. It's a serious wine that represents the style of the year, with good weight, a little closed, slowly revealing a mixture of red and black fruit, and it has a gentle palate with fine-grained tannins, abundant but ripe and round. It should develop nicely once bottled. The wine should be bottled in May 2019. They expect to fill around 8,600 bottles.
