L'avis des experts

Tim Atkin:

Benefitting from the warmer conditions in 2022, which was arguably better for reds than whites, this is a three-way blend of Caíño Tinto, Espadeiro and Mencía. A Galician red for Pinot Noir lovers, it has lots of energy and perfume, flavours of Turkish Delight, cranberry and wild strawberry and sculpted, fine-grained tannins. 2024-30

The Wine Advocate:

The red blend 2022 O Esteiro was produced with Espadeiro, Mencía and Caíño; it's a barrel blend similar to the Capitán Xurelo, but here he looks for more elegance and finesse. This is a little paler and more herbal, with more pungent pine needle aromas, a light body and 11% alcohol. The grapes fermented with full clusters and matured in used oak barrels for 18 months. 3,333 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2024. It has a different character from the Capitán Xurelo but is at the same quality level. - Luis Gutiérrez.
