L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

"The 2011 Pago La Garduna is the varietal Syrah named after the plot where the Rhone grape is planted. They use a higher toast barrel for this wine which in the beginning gives aromas of licorice and smoke. At 15% alcohol, it is definitively a warm-climate Syrah, at least in 2011, when it is quite ripe, modern and clean with smoky notes, tobacco, lactic aromas and a balsamic profile with notes of eucalyptus, vanilla and cinnamon. It has good concentration and balance, and is slightly warm, with some drying tannins toward the end. It’s very showy, if a little obvious. Drink 2015-2020".
