Description

4 kilos tire son nom des 4 millions d’anciennes pesetas que Francesc et Sergio ont utilisé comme investissement initial pour leur projet viticole. C'est aussi le nom de leur vin le plus puissant et le plus complexe, qui sort chaque année avec une étiquette différente (cette fois avec une photographie de la série "The art of flying" de Jan van IJken). Un vin rouge élaboré à partir de Callet autochtone, qui lui donne une élégante acidité et une touche de liqueur.

I tasted an unbottled sample of the 2017 4 Kilos that was assembled from different lots. Even though the nose shows less precision, the final wine can change, the nose can develop; unbottled samples are prone to oxidation and deviations, and the nose must be taken with a grain of salt. In situations like this, I try to guide myself by the palate, where the wine shows very good freshness and elegance for an extremely warm year. In 2017, they had to sort and select the grapes and ended producing fewer bottles (perhaps 3,000 bottles less than the usual). A triumph for the vintage.
