Description
« Un pied, une vigne » : c'est ainsi que Xavier Iturria nous présente son Valdosan rouge, issu des meilleurs fruits de ses vieilles vignes. L'excellent travail de Xavier à la vigne et au chai permet à ce vin rouge à la corpulence et la puissance caractéristiques des vins de Toro d'exprimer son versant le plus aimable dès la première gorgée. Ses arômes francs font la part belle aux fruits et aux épices comme le clou de girofle. Structuré et complexe en bouche, il séduit également par sa belle acidité.

The 2012 Valdosán is pure ungrafted Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) from 75-year-old vines on sandy soils. The grapes were harvested early, fermented with natural yeasts with a short maceration and matured in new French oak barriques for two years. The oak is surprisingly well integrated and the wine comes through as quite balanced, harmonious and elegant. It combines the powerful and somehow rustic character from Toro with finesse and good balance. The tannins are very fine and there is a nice thread of acidity going through its core that seems to provide a freshness that lifts up the finish. Really impressive. 2,500 bottles were filled in April 2015.
