The Wine Advocate:

Pure Tempranillo from head-pruned, old vines, the 2012 Vega Moragona La Duna is named after the zone from where the grapes are sourced, matured in barrel for nine months. Perhaps the sandy soils give fine juice, but the fact is that the wine feels more polished and with better-integrated oak than its younger (cheaper) siblings, with alluring notes of ripe cherries and spices and a lively palate, full-bodied, but with good acidity that helps balancing the overall feeling. This is a powerful, expressive Tempranillo, at the same time quite elegant and very nicely crafted. Good value for money. 92,000 bottles.
Bodegas La Magdalena is one of the few operating in the appellation of origin Riberas del Júcar in the region of La Mancha; they are better known by their popular brand Vega Moragona.
