Clos Cypres 2014

"Unfortunately, I find the top-of-the-range 2014 Clos Cypres too ripe and with a touch of volatility, with some unusual notes of very ripe custard apple. It is a single-vineyard wine from an old plot of Cariñena vines on a slope at 500 meters in altitude in the south of Priorat. It fermented in 600-liter barrels and terracotta amphorae, where it also went through malolactic. It matured in a 1,000-liter oak vats for 12 months. It is a little thin in the palate. Drink up. 1,200 bottles were filled in April 2016."
